
Sugar Pie
A classic, old-fashioned sugar pie with a wonderfully creamy filling and a lightly crusted top. Simple pantry ingredients come together to make a surprisingly rich and indulgent dessert.

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C and grease a 23 cm pie dish.
- Place 400 g of brown sugar and 60 g of butter in a mixing bowl and beat together with an electric mixer until creamy and smooth, with no lumps. Beat in 2 eggs one at a time, fully incorporating the first before adding the second. Add 1 tsp of vanilla extract and 1 tsp of salt, then beat in 60 g of plain flour a little at a time. Finally, pour in 360 ml of milk and mix until you have a smooth, creamy batter. Pour the batter into the prepared pie dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, then remove the pie and cover the rim with aluminium foil to prevent burning. Return to the oven and bake until the middle is set and the top forms a light, crusty layer, about 15 more minutes.
- Allow the pie to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
