
Jamaican Fried Dumplings

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 240 g all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, and 1 tsp salt, stirring until evenly mixed. Pour in 180 ml milk and stir until a dough forms, then gather it into a ball and knead lightly until smooth and cohesive.
- Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces and roll each one into a ball. Set aside.
- Pour 360 ml of oil into a 25 cm skillet and heat over medium heat until the oil reaches 175 °C.
- Carefully lower the dough balls into the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown on one side, then flip and cook the other side until evenly browned, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Remove the dumplings from the oil and transfer them to a paper-towel-lined plate or a cooling rack to drain any excess oil. Serve warm.
